DJ lighting is usually a smaller version of nightclub lighting and consist of moving heads, moonflower lights, laser projectors and or a combinations of LED par can or LED wash lights. These lights are designed to be smaller, lighter and easy to use. Dj lights are also set up to be controller via sound, auto, DMX or remote control.
You can set up DJ lighting on a truss system, tripod stands or set them on the ground or anywhere you can attach them. These lights are also designed to have low power conception and run off of a normal 120V power supply. The most popular type is called a moonflower light. Moonflower lights are a multi-beam light that can be easily set up and aimed into the center of the dance floor and project all kinds of different patterns and colors of light. These lights mimic moving head lights and do a pretty good job and are very economical.
If you truly want an over the top lighting system, incorporation moving head lights or scanners lights into your light show will really add that nightclub feel to your set up and really give you a light show that will impress your clients and customers. Moving head or scanner lights always look best in pairs or more ( like 2, 4, 6, 8 and so on) so the lights can be symmetrical and when connected to each other when running and have the same patterns, textures and colors and work together for a coordinated light show
Laser light show projectors are also one of the main anchors of a light show and can really bring a a completely new level of color and mind-blowing lighting effects like liquid sky, graphics, text or animations
LED par can and wash lighting can add huge areas of color and be used as fill lighting and make your light show look full of light with fill any dark spots or areas of missing light. these LED lights can also be used to wash walls, columns and used as uplighting to light up areas anywhere you want. These lights are also available as battery powered and DMX wireless
Usually the best set up is a combination of all of these types of lights to give you a huge verity of lighting and makes you light show look dynamics and incredible
Also remember, if you really want the most of your lighting system or to see laser beams in the mid air, you will need a fog or HAZE machine to really take the lighting to the next level
