Nightclub sound or audio also known as a sound reinforcement system are designed to create that incredible large room sound of thundering bass and accurate mids and highs, these audio systems incorporate a combination of signal processors, power amplifiers, and loudspeakers that makes DJ live playback or pre-recorded sounds louder and may also distribute those sounds to a larger or more distant audience. In some situations, a sound reinforcement system is also used to enhance the sound of the sources on the stage, as opposed to simply amplifying the sources unaltered.
A nightclub sound reinforcement system may be very complex, including complex audio mixing and signal processing systems, tens of thousands of watts of amplifier power, multiple loudspeaker arrays and or different combinations of loudspeakers and subwoofers to create that mind blowing sound you need to make a nightclub a success. The newer more complex speaker systems are able to focus there sound to different areas and multiple db levels giving you a more precise sound quality with out mudding up the sound field and creating sound artifacts, distortions and feedback loops. Massive subwoofers insure you have that tight punchy bass and loudspeakers that combine the mids (midrange) and highs (tweeter frequences) are set up for to blend the sound together for that ultimate sound field. Most nightclub sound systems need to be engineered to the club for the most effective and to balanced the sound experience, usually installed and overseen by a team of audio experts and technicians.
On the other hand, a sound reinforcement system can be as simple as a small public address (PA) system, consisting of, for example, a single microphone connected to an amplified loudspeaker for a singer-guitarist playing in a coffeehouse. In both cases, these systems reinforce sound to make it louder or distribute it to a wider audience.
